My name is Travis Gatewood, but my Aggie family know me as Tre’. I want to use my space to honor my mentor D’Chere Lofton. She’s gone, but all the things she taught me to do and be, she was for me! That’s why I loved her and miss her because she was a pillar among our media advocates from Crosby Hall.
I’m a Crosby Kid through and through. From reel to reel, to digital tuning for 97.1 WQMG and going to two Summer Jamz with the Entercom family, Kyle Santilian to Showdown and B Daht – I’ve known a lot who have gone to do better things in other markets or even stepped into other roles that have expanded their talents. D’Chere made sure we were multifaceted and could never say we couldn’t do anything.
I just wanted to say she shaped my Aggie experience and I couldn’t have had a better mentor. To D’Chere and those touched by her, she left a legacy that will live on through our work and accomplishments for us and the Crosby Kids who come after us.
