From N.C. A&T to global impact, North Carolina A&T State University took a chance on me. Entering college, my GPA did not meet the standard requirements, but my strong ACT score showed my potential. Recognizing that potential, the faculty and staff did not just admit me; they invested in me. They took a deeply personal interest in my success, literally walking hand-in-hand with me through every step of my undergraduate journey.
Fueled by their belief, I threw myself entirely into the Aggie experience. I learned to master the art of balance, serving on the Student Government Association board, working as a peer advisor, yelling “Aggies in the front” as a Blue and Gold Squad cheerleader and staying active in the History Club. To fund my education, I balanced a work-study position alongside at least three other part-time jobs. Despite this demanding schedule, I maintained a solid B average.
N.C. A&T did not just give me an education; it afforded me a lifetime of Aggie Pride, invaluable experience and a supportive family of lifelong friends. My college truly changed my life.
That foundational support became the launching pad for a historic career. Today, I hold a doctorate degree in education. I made history as the first African American woman to sit on a board of educators that built and opened an American English-speaking school in the Middle East. Driven by a passion to inspire the next generation, I also authored the children’s book, “My VP Looks Like Me,” and founded Lioness Loyalty LLC, which I operate as CEO out of Atlanta. Every single one of these global accomplishments stands firmly on the foundation of success built for me at N.C. A&T State University.
