My Aggie story includes my grandmother. Her name was Dorothy Ray. She was an Aggie and told me if I was going to be a nurse, I was going to be an Aggie nurse! She was very active in the alumni association and what was called years ago the Aggie Club. My grandmother celebrated her silver year class reunion the year I graduated and I have a photo of us in our cap and gown.  

My grandmother died in 2025 the week of Mother’s Day. She would have celebrated her golden year class reunion alongside me as I celebrated my silver year. The Office of Alumni Affairs came to my grandmother’s funeral and gave me her golden year swag bag and I was able to pin her before they closed the casket.  

I am the woman I am today because of my grandmother and because of A&T. I am a very proud alumna and now faculty member at the School of Nursing.
