Aristotle Verrios ‘26

My experience at North Carolina A&T has been defined by a commitment to service, scholarship, and creating opportunities that make a lasting impact. As a proud Aggie and graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in agricultural and environmental systems, I have embraced every opportunity to grow as a leader, researcher and advocate while representing the excellence that defines Aggie Pride.

Throughout my time at N.C. A&T, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA while challenging myself both inside and outside the classroom. My academic journey has led me to conduct research focused on crop risk management in flood-prone counties across North Carolina, culminating in presenting my work at the Yale Undergraduate Research Conference. That experience reinforced my passion for finding solutions to real-world agricultural and environmental challenges through research and policy. This summer, I had the privilege of serving as a sustainability policy intern with BASF, where I collaborated with professionals across sustainability, legal and business teams to better understand how policy influences the future of agriculture. Building on that experience, my long-term goal is to attend law school and become an environmental and agricultural attorney, using the law to advocate for sustainable agriculture, rural communities, and responsible environmental stewardship.

Service has always been central to my Aggie experience. As a member of the executive board of the N.C. A&T chapter of MANRRS (Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences), I have worked to develop programs and service initiatives that empower students while strengthening our connection to the surrounding community. As a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., I have also embraced the fraternity’s commitment to brotherhood, scholarship, and service, participating in initiatives that give back while helping develop future leaders. Along the way, I have been honored to receive recognition including the university’s Award for Academic Excellence, the Gamma Sigma Delta Scholarship, and opportunities to represent N.C. A&T at national conferences and professional events.

While these accomplishments are meaningful, they are simply milestones in a much larger journey. North Carolina A&T has provided me with more than an education; it has given me a purpose. Through exceptional faculty mentors, transformative research opportunities and organizations that have challenged me to lead, I have grown into someone committed to serving others and making a difference.

My Aggie story is one of perseverance, excellence, and gratitude, and I hope it reflects the impact that N.C. A&T has on students who are willing to dream boldly, work relentlessly and give back to the communities they serve.
