It was fall 1984, while in Corbett Sport Center attending the coronation program, to my surprise this angelic voice started to sing.
At that time, I was huge Deniece Williams fan and just becoming aware of the significance of Black pride.
The song was “Black Butterfly,” and the person singing it was my dear friend and classmate, Sybil Lynch, the newly crowned Miss A&T.
From that point on, I was so inspired by the lyrics to succeed in my endeavors.
I am forever grateful and indebted to A&T, and thank you again, Sybil!
