Homecoming at North Carolina A&T means so much more to me than returning to campus. It is a celebration of the roots of our family and the legacy we have built as Aggies.

I met my husband freshman year at A&T through a mutual friend, and although we didn’t begin dating exclusively until our junior year, those early years on campus laid the foundation for a love story that has now grown into 25 years of marriage.

Today, we have two daughters, and both have attended North Carolina A&T. Our oldest daughter has earned two degrees from A&T, while our youngest is a junior executive student leader on campus and an Aggie Ambassador, continuing the Aggie legacy in her own way.

For us, homecoming is a family reunion. It is a time to reconnect with lifelong friends, see former professors, walk the campus that shaped our lives and experience Aggie Pride through our children’s eyes. We get to celebrate not only our academic accomplishments, but also the relationships, memories, traditions and family that grew from our time at A&T.

A&T gave my husband and me much more than an education; it gave us the beginning of our love story and the foundation for our family. Now, watching our daughters create their own Aggie memories makes homecoming even more meaningful. It is a beautiful reminder that the Aggie experience is bigger than one generation.
