My most vivid homecoming memories date back to elementary school onward into Dudley High School wherein my late dad would attend the homecoming games, which set the stage for me. I knew upon completion of high school that North Carolina A&T would be my only choice for higher education. That Aggie Pride was too loud to pass up! It was in my blood!
I graduated in 1983, with a B.S. in social work and I am a member of Alpha Delta Mu Honor Society.
Homecoming memories include the huge presence of Aggie Pride, the crispness in the air, the soulful parade, good food, fellowship, fun parties and, of course, attending the football game! My crew would compare notes regarding the homecoming attire as we were always fashionably dressed! We had to represent!
As a native of Greensboro, homecoming season provided a huge sense of community in celebration of our own historically Black university which resonated around the city and country. The sense of belonging and camaraderie felt will forever be etched in my memory bank, providing lifelong appreciation for what A&T has afforded me.
I look forward to traveling back to Greensboro each year to celebrate the Greatest Homecoming on Earth and reminisce of the past and looking forward to the future!
Happy 100th Anniversary!
